Sam said, “This place is so interesting! We can learn a lot about history here.” Everyone agreed and felt very happy. “The Brave Little Star" Once upon a time, in the vastness of the night sky, there was a small, twinkling star named Lulu. Lulu lived among the other stars in the constellation, but unlike them, Lulu felt afraid of the dark expanse beyond. Each night, when it was time to shine brightly, Lulu would hesitate, afraid to leave the safety of the constellation. While the other stars gracefully glimmered, Lulu stayed dim, scared of the unknown. One evening, Lulus Big Brother shooting star named Susu streaked across the sky. Susu noticed Lulu hesitation and asked, "Why don’t you shine as brightly as the others?" Lulu sighed, "I'm afraid of what's out there beyond our constellation. It’s so dark and unknown." Susu smiled gently, "But haven't you ever wondered what adventures await beyond our cozy corner of the sky? Sometimes, being brave means stepping into the unknown." Lulu pondered Susu words and realized that staying dim and afraid wasn’t making life any brighter. With a deep breath, Lulu summoned courage, deciding to venture beyond the familiar stars. As Lulu journeyed into the darkness, the unknown felt daunting, but with each passing moment, Lulus light grew stronger and discovered wonders—galaxies, planets, and moons. Each new sight filled Lulu with awe and courage. But suddenly, a vast, shadowy nebula appeared, blocking Lulus path back home. Fear crept in, but then Susu appeared next to Lulu, Lulu Looks over and remembered Susus words: "Sometimes, being brave means facing challenges head-on." Summoning all the courage within, Lulu glowed brightly, illuminating the path through the nebula. With determination and bravery, emerging on the other side, shining even more brilliantly than before. Returning to the constellation, Lulu was welcomed by cheers and admiration from the other stars. Susu at the front embracing Lulu and saying I knew you could do it! From that day on, Lulu continued to shine brightly, no longer afraid of the unknown.

Imoni hesitated. “But what if it hurts, Daddy?  Arthur knelt down to her level. “I know you’re scared, sweetheart. But trust me, I’ll be gentle, and it’ll only take a second. You’re so brave, and I’ll be right here with you.” Imoni looked into her daddy’s kind eyes. She took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay, Daddy. I trust you.” Arthur carefully tied the string around Imoni’s loose tooth. “Ready, sweetheart?” he asked. Imoni squeezed her eyes shut and held her daddy’s hand. “Ready,” she whispered. “On the count of three,” Arthur said. “One… two…” Before he got to three, he gave a quick tug, and the tooth popped right out! Imoni opened her eyes. “Wait… is it out?” Arthur held up the tiny tooth. “It’s out! You did it, Imoni!” Imoni touched the gap in her mouth and smiled. “It didn’t even hurt!” she said, giggling. “I told you,” Arthur said, hugging her. “Sometimes, trusting someone makes all the difference. "That night, Imoni placed her tiny tooth under her pillow and climbed into bed. She felt proud and brave. Arthur kissed her forehead. “Goodnight, my brave girl. I’m so proud of you.”

Ruby has Nemaline Myopathy She loved drawing, telling stories, and exploring her garden full of colorful flowers One day at school, her teacher, Mr. Barnes, explained to the class that everyone has different strengths and challenges. “Ruby might need extra time to do certain tasks, but she has one of the sharpest minds I’ve ever seen!” he said proudly. Ruby’s friends loved her creativity and kindness. When she couldn’t run in gym class, they worked together to invent a game that everyone could play. “We’ll call it The Super Sitter Olympics!” her best friend Mia declared, and they all cheered. One day, Ruby decided she wanted to help others with Nemaline Myopathy. “I’ll write a book about my adventures!” she said. Her family smiled and encouraged her.

Lots of children give plastic bottle lids to Lids4Kids to be recycled. Lids4Kids volunteers sort them into color categories as a group. The colored lids are divided into 3 groups before being poured into a big machine that mulches them into small flakes. Another machine melts the flakes and extrudes them into a metal mold in the shape of slats for a bench. Volunteers then use carpentry tools to build a colorful bench.
